Honor Award

Residence Two (Flow Thru House) and Three (Armadillo House)

Two of five prototypical, sustainable, low-income homes built on a vacant parcel of land in Tucson’s Barrio San Antonio. After a three-year monitoring period, plans for the residences will be made available to nonprofit housing providers.

Mojave Discovery Center

The plan for this learning center in Nevada’s Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area provides an experiential discovery program of the surrounding Mojave Desert’s ecosystems. The building will serve as an example of existing and conserving in the desert.

ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication

This LEED-silver rated, state-of-the-art building on Arizona State University’s downtown campus serves as a mixed-use project, boasting retail spaces on the ground floor, the School of Journalism on the middle floors, and topped with production facilities for Cronkite News Watch and the local PBS affiliate.

An infill project in urban transitional area Barrio Blue Moon, the two homes situated on this property make the most of a tight budget while responding to the climate and neighborhood.
